Fine Art Oil Painting: Deer by the Garden

Living in the highest incorporated town in the United States gives a person access to much mountain wildlife. Foxes and deer regularly visit my yard. Case in point the picture will show you. If I stand very still, they will look straight at me but not be afraid and run off. If I move just a little bit, they will bolt. "Deer by the Garden" is a dip into the pool of representational cubism a la Picasso. A blue mood overcame me at the time I was painting it, so I went with this feeling, thus the blues and greens. Depth in oil painting is very important to me as well as some creative abstraction. Comments are welcome! Thank you and enjoy!

Fine Art Oil Painting: Underground Woman

I was going to call this "Death by Poison" as the woman underground is dead and she is dreaming of her death. The berries on the tree represent the poison. However, I thought this too morbid, so I changed the title of this oil painting. This artwork is a style that I want to experiment with a lot more. THe gallery that represents me in Frisco, Colorado, The Columbine Gallery, urges me to paint more landscapes. But the beautiful landscapes and mountains that surround me do not inspire me to paint them. Just to gawk is sufficient. I'm inspired more to paint what is in my head and play around with surrealism and the abstract. Nature does like to creep into the surrealist artwork, but not as the main theme. I hope you enjoy and feel free to leave comments. I appreciate them! This original painting is for sale in my Ebay store at http://stores.ebay.com/The-Escape-Artist-Gallery_W0QQssPageNameZl2QQtZkm, plus note cards are for sale on my website at http://www.laurabarat.com/.
